Adopt a Coonhound (short coat)

Coonhound (short coat) Dog

Fern the Dog needs a home

Fern is a sweet very senior Coonhound. The life she led before coming to Tired Dog Rescue was one of a prisoner. Locked away in a filthy outside pen. She did not know what to do with human attention. She is finally wagging her tail when she sees us now. She is a gentle, quiet girl who just wants to sleep and eat and the occasional snuggle. During rain storms she gets very nervous and takes meds to keep her calm. Snuggling in bed between her foster parents makes her feel safer. Our vet removed several tumors and we have to watch for any regrowth. She gets around fine, albeit a bit slow from arthritis and was heartworm positive but has finished her treatment and is just waiting to test negative. If you have a love for the breed or just for senior pets you would not be disappointed with Fern. If interested in giving Fern a foster or forever home please go to www.tireddogrescue.com
